introduces VI-FI, a special implementation of Wi-Fi
with high security and integrated authentication capabilities,
specifically designed for the needs of Libraries and
their patrons.
Vi-Fi can be implemented to provide
wireless access at the level appropriate for your needs:
* Staff Reference - Allow your Library
staff to access all library files including catalogs,
databases, or staff-only files from anywhere in your
library using either wireless-enabled computers or
Veicon V-Pad wireless terminals.
* Patron Access - Allow patrons to
access the Internet, library catalogs, and library
databases using their own wireless-enabled computers,
PDAs, or cell phones. Authenticated session control,
patron time limits, filtering and print management
are available software options.
* Remote Terminals - Place wireless
V-Link terminals where hard-wired Internet is too difficult
or expensive. Also use when existing furniture or space
is limited.
* VI-FI is provided as a "turn-key" solution
to your wireless needs. It can be implemented as a
stand-alone wireless solution or as an extension of
